FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about how renovation and construction projects work, before you commit to anything.

Frequently asked questions

What areas do you serve?

We work in Windsor, LaSalle and Tecumseh. If your project is nearby but outside these communities, contact us and we'll let you know whether we can help.

Do you do plumbing, electrical or HVAC work?

We don't offer plumbing, electrical or HVAC as standalone services. When a renovation or build needs that work, it's completed by appropriately licensed trades and scheduled as part of your project.

How does your quoting process work?

We start with a conversation about your project, then visit the site to measure and assess conditions. You receive a written, itemized quote that separates labour, materials and any allowances, so you can compare it clearly.

Do you handle building permits?

When a project requires a permit, we prepare and submit the application for the work in our scope and coordinate the required inspections. Some projects also need drawings or an engineer's review, which we arrange as part of planning.

What happens if something unexpected comes up during the project?

Renovations, especially in older homes, can uncover hidden damage or outdated materials. When that happens, we stop, show you what we found, explain the options and confirm any change in price in writing before continuing.

Can I stay in my home during a renovation?

Usually, yes. Most projects can be planned so you can keep living at home, although kitchen and bathroom work will limit the use of those rooms for a period. For larger projects, we'll talk through phasing so you know what to expect.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the scope, material lead times, permits and inspections. Your quote includes an estimated schedule, and we keep you updated as the project moves forward.

What should I check before hiring any contractor?

Get the scope and price in writing, ask for proof of liability insurance and, where applicable, WSIB coverage, confirm who is responsible for permits, and make sure you understand the payment schedule before work starts.

How do I prepare my home before work begins?

We'll give you a short list for your specific project, which usually includes clearing the work area, removing breakable items from nearby shelves and walls, and planning for pets and parking.

How do I get started?

Call us or send your project details through our quote form. We'll follow up to learn more and set up a time to see the space.
